SUMMARY

Nu Skin uses a gentler approach to formulating their whitening toothpaste which keeps it effective without damaging precious teeth enamel.

This is the best tasting toothpaste and without an aftertaste. It is more expensive than regular toothpaste but in my opinion it is worth it and affordable.

Nu SKin AP-24 Whitening Fluoride Toothpaste

Everybody on the whole planet wants a brilliant, bright smile and I am certainly no exception. I’ve tried many different brands over the years – when I was young and poor I bought whichever household brand name had the biggest discount that day.

As I’ve grown (slightly) older and (hopefully) wiser I have decided to find the best, not the cheapest.  Not all toothpastes are created equal and every time I finished a tube I’d buy a different one to try to get the results I’m after.

I came across this toothpaste and decided to try it as I have been delighted with the quality of some of Nu Skin’s other products I’ve tried over the past year or so. After over 2 months of usage I am at the toothpaste crossroads againI wrote this review in case you’re looking for a toothpaste that provides both confidence in your smile but also one that doesn’t do harm to your teeth.

Does Nu Skin AP-24 Whitening Fluoride Toothpaste Work?

In short – yes, but it isn’t quite so simple. My teeth are definitely looking white and bright. I am smiling confidently and, at the end of the day, that’s the whole point. I’m not sure if they are whitening my teeth more than any other brand I’ve tried though. I never expected to have a TV-advert smile after using this as no toothpaste can change the natural color of our teeth – that requires bleaching. Don’t believe those ridiculous reviews out there that suggest this, or any other whitening toothpaste for that matter, can make your teeth pure white. It’s physically impossible without bleaching and they are lying to you.

Why do I score it a 9 for effectiveness? It is as whitening as any toothpaste can be. However, Nu Skin’s AP-24 Whitening Fluoride Toothpaste manages to do so without using peroxides and harsh abrasives and my teeth haven’t felt any sensitivity whatsoever. It has a low Relative Dentin Abrasivity (RDA) score of 103, well-within the industrysafe score of 250. The higher the RDA score, the more likely a toothpaste is eroding your teeth enamel and please be warned – this damage cannot be repaired!

It cleans, whitens AND protects the teeth without eroding enamel so I consider it highly effective.

How Does AP-24 Toothpaste Taste?

Let’s talk about the taste of this toothpaste as it goes in your mouth for 4 minutes everyday! All of the toothpastes I have used all tasted different from each other and yet vaguely the same. You always have the overwhelmingly artificial peppermint or spearmint flavor but I had never really paid attention to it before.

I would describe the Nu Skin toothpaste as mildly vanilla with the tiniest hint of mint. I don’t like the strong taste of vanilla, but here it is so subtle that it acts as a slight sweetener only to give the toothpaste a mildly pleasant flavorMy husband didn’t even notice it was vanilla until I pointed it out but he also prefers this taste. Initially I found it odd that a toothpaste would be quite plain tasting but it quickly grew on me. You get the same fresh mouth feeling without artificial taste like regular toothpastes. I don’t wish to go back to a strongly flavored toothpaste anymore.

I am curious how you feel about it as taste is subjective after all. If you have tried it please leave a comment below to share your take on it.

Would I Recommend AP-24 Whitening Fluoride Toothpaste?

Yes. I have just ordered two more tubes – one for my mum, and my husband and I will continue to use it as he drinks a lot of tea and has slightly sensitive teeth. Despite being more expensive than the supermarket-shelf brands I do feel it is worth it due to the piece of mind by protecting my teeth enamel. It’s a couple bucks a month more which upon reflection I could’ve afforded years ago too.
