Nu Skin ageLOC Galvanic Spa Review

My Struggle With Acne:

When I started getting acne, lots of people advised me that I should go to an aesthetician to have facials to “detox” my skin. While that sounded appealing, the practicalities of finding one, booking an appointment, travel time and the cost of the facial wasn’t appealing for me. As a result, I have only had a facial once and didn’t plan on going back again.

As my skin problems became worse over time, I was more and more motivated to do my own research in medical journals. I had found that if I wanted to improve the deep, underlying architecture of my skin, I would need a solution that I can utilise consistently. Like any new lifestyle improvements, you need to be consistent to see the benefits. That’s why I ruled out having regular facials to improve my skin as it would cost too much time and money

I had a great experience with using my first at-home facial spa product, the Nu Skin Lumispa cleanser (read my review of it here). It had effectively reduced my acne to the occasional pimple, around 2-3 pimples appearing every couple of weeks. This had already boosted my confidence in myself and in their products

I wanted to find a solution which would get rid of my breakouts once and for all, as there was a persistent cystic pimple on my chin which kept coming back for months. I wanted to try the Nu Skin Galvanic Spa

How does the Nu Skin Galvanic Spa work?

The Galvanic Spa is a hand-held machine that enables you to do DIY facials at home quickly and effectively. It uses galvanic electrical currents to push vitamins and minerals into the skin, so it is a much more effective way of getting anti-aging ingredients deep into the skin. Don’t worry, you can’t feel the galvanic current, there are occasional pricks but very very mild.

Nu Skin Galvanic Spa treatment gels come either positively or negatively charged and the electric current works in the same way as magnets, to attract or repel things on the skin. When you apply the first treatment gel, the device works to pull out and extract impurities from deep within your skin. This is exactly why I wanted to use it, to get rid of the impurities that make this cystic acne come back again and again.

After this, you apply the second gel and the device works to push the nutrients in the gel so that it is absorbed deeply into the skin. According to Nuskin, the Galvanic Spa “provides five times more ageLOC ingredients to the skin”, targeting the ultimate sources of aging. Using the Galvanic Spa after cleaning my face with the Lumispa (link) felt great, I saw that my skin looked and felt much more hydrated after the first treatment.

The results from Nu Skin Galvanic Spa

I wanted to use the Galvanic Spa more and more to see whether it would get rid of my cystic acne. After a few times of using it that same week, I noticed that active breakouts I had would become a whitehead much quicker. This meant that it shortened the time it took for the pimple to go away, as it was drawing out the impurities and pushing in the nutrients into my skin. #win

My cystic acne spot did go away, but I had to use it around 5-8 times before I noticed that it disappeared completely. But since then, it’s never come back! #doublewin

I started using the Nuskin Galvanic Spa on my friends and family as a treat for them and here are some photos of their results:

Would I recommend this to a friend?

Absolutely. For the cost of doing 2 professional facials, I felt like it was well worth having the Nuskin Galvanic Spa machine at home. It takes only 8 minutes to do and so I have been doing it much more regularly than going for a facial as I can use it while watching TV! It provides a much needed “Me Time”, without needing to book an appointment for.

One of my friends who is a physiotherapist recently started using the Galvanic Spa on a football injury as the galvanic currents increases and facilitates circulations and it helped his recovery.  I will provide more information on whether Nuskin’s Galvanic Spa can treat pain as I do more research on this.
